Museum hosts exhibit of African American Health and Healers

Checking our Pulse at Northwest African American Museum, Seattle

The Northwest African American Museum in partnership with Swedish Medical Center recently opened a new exhibition, "Checking Our Pulse: Health and Healers in the African American Community."

The exhibit focuses on health in the local African American community. It shares the stories and achievements of African American medical professionals and probes the realities of critical health issues impacting the Black community in the Puget Sound.

Curated by Brian J. Carter, the exhibit ends June 5, 2011.
